One of the things I like about this neighborhood is how we share information about small businesspeople and their good service. Here’s a good experience Ottar and I recently had when our air conditioner didn’t work. We had such nice weather in early June, didn’t we? Then, there was that shocker several days ago when the temperature – and humidity – were hovering around 90. That’s when we decided it was time to turn on the air conditioner. You were lucky if your air conditioner kicked right in and cooled you down and made living in the heat and humidity more comfortable. Unfortunately, our air conditioner didn’t kick in and keep us cool. It just blew hot air. I was sure it would be days and days before we could get someone to the house to look over the AC, because I was sure that lots of people in the area had done just what we’d done – turned on our AC at the first heat wave without having had someone out beforehand to look it over. Happily, I called Tony at AB Refrigeration, told him we were hot and getting hotter and asked if he could come take a look at our AC. We didn’t have to wait days and days at all. Of course, there were other customers whose air conditioners Tony was already committed to working on, but he promptly returned my call and came by the next day. He quickly diagnosed the problem, left to go get the parts, and returned a few hours later with the solution in his hand. The parts were installed without problem, and we were in the cooling business. He even came by the day after that and cleaned out the AC unit. Now, if you’re anything like I am, I know nothing about air conditioning, so I was fearful that getting our house ready for the summer would cost us about a gazillion dollars. But, Tony’s price was very reasonable. That, coupled with his prompt, friendly service, makes it easy for me to say that we will be customers of Tony’s for years to come. Besides fixing what’s broken, Tony provides regular maintenance service. I think that’s a good idea, and we’ll have him come out regularly from now on so we don’t have another hot-to-hotter episode. He also suggested that we replace our old thermostats, a rather modest proposal that will make it easier to keep the house efficiently comfortable, and we’ll do that, too. Tony’s phone number is (703) 862-1085. Tell him Ottar and Sandra recommended him.
